We are a nonprofit 501 C(3) organization with a primary focus on member's horticultural and environmental education. We have monthly meetings with featured speakers and go on field trips to botanical gardens, nurseries and parks. We encourage members to volunteer in our community. We teach children's gardening in the elementary schools and have assisted students with dyslexia to enjoy creating herb gardens.
We have partnered with the City of Coral Springs on the annual ''Coral Springs Looking Good'' beautification project encouraging businesses, schools, houses of worship and residents to landscape their properties utilizing Florida Friendly techniques of Right Plant - Right Place. Properties are nominated from residents each year and the winners are awards at the Mayor's Award Luncheon.
Each year we volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in the landscaping of a new home owner's property.
For 10 years, we have presented our annual fundraiser, GARDENFEST CORAL SPRINGS (a beautiful and educational garden and plant show) in The Walk of Coral Springs. at the Coral Springs Festival of The Arts. Proceeds for this event benefit Environmental and Horticultural Scholarships presented to Coral Springs High School graduates at a luncheon In May.
To say it simply GCCS's aspirations are, truly, our possibilities. Come Grow with us!
